Confirmation Class (grades 6-8)

Confirmation class is for all youth 6th-8th grades.  Confirmation classes prepare children to become young Christians through the teaching of what it means to be Lutheran and what we believe. These classes are structured learning which culminate with their becoming official members of the congregation. They learn about the Sacraments of Baptism and Communion, what it means to be a Christian, and the meaning of the Lord’s Prayer, Ten Commandments, Apostles' and Nicene Creeds.

High School Youth (grades 9-12)

These youth engage in lively discussions of current issues, struggles, and successes as they face the challenges of being a Christian. The focus of these classes is their personal and spiritual walk with God. The classroom atmosphere is relaxed and includes couches instead of chairs and tables to enhance and encourage sharing and relationship building.

Adult Education Opportunities

Several adult classes are available during the school year.  Some recent topics include Bible Basics, Journey Together Faithfully, A Purpose Filled Life, Phillip Keller's A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23, and Max Lucado's Lighten You Load.

This fall there will be three adult education opportunities in which to participate:

Bible study: A pastor-led class on I Timothy called “Free to be Responsible” will meet in the southwest corner of the Sanctuary.
What is a steward?: A video-led discussion by Mary Whitledge will look at all the aspects of our lives and ask “How do we become stewards of what God has so graciously given us?” Class will meet in the cry room.
Current Events: Dick Joyce will lead discussion on topics and articles in the Lutheran magazine in the northeast corner of the Sanctuary.
