Join Our Youth

The youth are very important at Grace and Peace Lutheran Church. We celebrate children’s lives from birth to maturity, including special events such as Baptism and Confirmation. We encourage involvement of parents and other adults in our children’s spiritual journey and youth activities. This involvement includes teaching and having fun. We have year round activities for our kids and young adults.

Kids In Christ

4-year-olds through 4th grade

This age group meets at the church. The activities, both indoor and outdoor, include Bible study, crafts, music, games, relays, and prayer. This is a fun program led by Sue Hughes, who has a real passion for youth ministry.

 

J.Y.G. (Joyful Young Givers)

5th through 8th grades

This age group meets at different times of the month depending on the activity. Junior High youth enjoy a variety of activities such as bowling, raking leaves for senior citizens, and trips. A favorite activity is always the overnight lock-in.

 

L.Y.O. (Lutheran Youth Organization)
9th through 12th grades

This age group meets monthly at different times based on the activity. While older and more mature than the junior high youth, LYO youth enjoy many of the same activities including movies, concerts, bowling, and lock-ins. We encourage interacting with other church youth groups and attending synod-wide conferences.
