LIBRARY TREASURES…

January still finds us in the Christmas season and then moving into Epiphany.

BOOKS FOR OUR ADULT READERS:
CHRISTMAS SHOES  by Donna VanLiere
This was a special on T.V. during the Christmas holidays.  Robert is on the brink of losing his marriage and eight-year old Nathan is losing his mother to cancer.  Christmas Eve brings Nathan and Robert together.

SHEPHERDS ABIDING by Jan Karon
We go to Mitford and Father Tim who wants to surprise his Cynthia for Christmas.  You'll visit all the folks in Mitford and love them all over again.

REDEEMING LOVE  by Francine Rivers
This book is set in California's gold country in 1805.  Michael Hosea obeys God's call and marries Angel who was sold into prostitution as a child.  Slowly her heart begins to thaw but with the softening she feels unworthy and fearful so she runs away.  A powerful retelling of the book of Hosea.

BEYOND PERFECT
A heaven sent book from Crossings complete with four romance novels entitled "Beyond Perfect," "Far Above Rubies," "Family Circle," and "The Wedding."

FOR OUR OLDER CHILDREN by Beverly Cleary
RAMONA IN KINDERGARTEN  How does she always get in trouble?
RAMONA THE BRAVE  Ramona in the first grade.  She has a new bedroom and finds it hard to be brave when there might be a ghost or a boneless gorilla oozing under the door.
RAMONA'S WORLD  Ramona in the fourth grade.  Not only must she improve her rotten spelling but she needs to be a role model for baby Robert and mother wants her to spend more time with the awful Susan.  Can she meet these challenges?

FOR OUR YOUNGER CHILDREN
IT'S ABSOLUTELY TRUE
by Hans Christian Andersen
This book tells of a rumor, following a scandal in the hen house.  It's repeated through the whole barnyard, and grows more sensational with each telling.

How about a New Year's Resolution--to read more books?

See you next month
