We had an excellent response to the Christmas gifts for Lutheran Social Service kids. Between the Grace and Peace list and the Thrivent congregational list, we had 80 names.  Thank you to everyone who contributed to a good Christmas for these children.  Edell Berg made 43 pairs of mittens, others gave mittens and hats, and there were 70 fleece scarves. 
     I especially want to thank Sue Mueller, Barb Hanson, Cindy Shelksohn, Sandi Rodlund, Pam Kovach, Carol Gard, Chris Mitchell, Coral Quitschau, Dave Dietrich, and Pastor for their help on Sunday, Dec. 14 when we did the final assessment of each child's packages.
     I also thank Carol Luecht, Bob Kamin, and George Lulay for delivering the brightly wrapped packages to the LSSI offices on the next day.
     I wasn't as pleased with the person or persons who helped themselves to two sandwiches which had been placed on the counter for the wrapping crew's meal before we even had a chance to have lunch.  Thus the sandwiches and crew members did not come out evenly.
