We had a wonderful year with a lot of help from many, many people. Our quilt count was 128, which is a record for us. Because of gifts of clothing and whole cloth fabric, we were able to venture into some different patterns and color schemes for our quilts. We have it on good authority that our quilts rate among the very best looking ones. Great care is given to color choices - all the way from the individual squares to the backing to the bright yarn that is chosen for the ties.
On October 8, the aGAPe group had a "closing of the season" potluck which just happened to be on my birthday. It was a lovely surprise for me to have balloons, singing, good food, a birthday cake, lots of great cards, and good friends around the table to help me celebrate.
Thank you to everyone for such a great quilting season! We will start work in January for our next 128 quilts.
Roberta Dietrich, aGAPe

SPEAKING OF FLOWERS - Our Sunday flower fund is $167 in arrears. Perhaps you signed up to give the flowers for a certain Sunday but forgot to pay for them. Please check your records for $25 that is the cost of the flowers and delivery. We want to get this fund out of the red by the end of the year.

LSSI 2004 CHRISTMAS NAMES and GIFTS

On Sunday, Nov. 16 and again on Sunday, Nov. 23, the sacks of Christmas gifts and names of other children who need shopping done will be available in the Great Room. As usual we have 60 names from LSSI and there will be several ways you can help. Some people like to buy a sack and wrap the gifts. Others like to take a name and do some shopping. Still other persons like to give a donation to cover whatever the needs are for a variety of children. All the gifts need to be back to church by Sunday, December 14.
