Have you heard
about the Via de Cristo? Wondered what it is? Well it is a
Lutheran Lay lead movement based on the Roman Catholic
Cursillo movement. This is a 72-hour weekend to explore
what Christian/Lutheran spirituality is. The weekend
consists of worship opportunities, food, meeting and
dialoging with other lay people about our faith walk,
singing and praying. The core of the weekend is based on
14 talks given by Lay and Clergy. The 14 talks are:
1. Ideals What
is the motivating force for humanity?
2. Habitual Grace God's ideal or motivating force for
humanity is his Grace.
3. Laity How God uses lay people to accomplish his
mission?
4. Grace in Action Faith is our
response to God's Grace.
5. Piety The tools we have to strengthen our faith.
6. Study How to deepen our understanding of Grace and
Faith through study.
7. Means of Grace Why word and sacrament is so
important.
8. Action How to put our piety and study to work in
the world around us.
9. Obstacles to Grace How sin effects our lives and
the remedies to sin.
10. Leaders Why God is looking for lay leaders and how
you are one.
11. Environment How God puts us in environments to
make a difference for him.
12. Life in Grace How do I take the Via de Cristo back
to my life and church?
13. Christian Community In Action How the church can
change the world.
14. Total Security in the 4th day How do I
make the Via de Cristo mean more than just a three day
weekend?
The fall weekend for men is October 9 - 12
The fall weekend for Women is October 16 - 19
The Cost is $125 and you can sign up by calling Pastor or
speaking to any member of Grace and Peace who has attended
