YOUTH
MINISTRY
- Jan reported that the trip to Atlanta went well overall and Mary
expressed how having the youth give a temple talk on their trip helped
our congregation to realize what a good use of our donations this
was. Meetings are planned for the youth and parents for some long
range planning - among other items, a mission trip in summer of 2004
will be discussed.
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION MINISTRY - Sandy reported that Sandi
Smith and Janelle Houge did a wonderful job with VBS. Sunday School
will begin on September 14th with the Theme - Covenant,
Promise - and will be the rotation style. There will also be four
adult classes offered.
ENDOWMENT MINISTRY - This ministry met on July 14th.
A written report was submitted. Next meeting is October 13, 2003.
EVANGELISM MINISTRY - Two profiles were submitted by
this ministry for missionaries in Madagascar. The Council asked this
ministry to review these and return next month with one
recommendation.
10TH ANNIVERSARY - Written report. Next meeting
September 11, 2003, 5:30 p.m.
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT TASK FORCE - No report.
OLD
BUSINESS
Transition
plans for staff.
REPORTS
MINUTES -A motion was made to accept the minutes of the July 15th
Council Meeting. Motion was seconded and passed.
WOMEN OF GRACE AND PEACE -A written report was submitted.
PASTOR -Pastor has designed a door hanger and has run 250 and will
be taking them out to the neighborhood. 267 door hangers were
distributed by Pastor before VBS and Pastor felt there was a good
return on this effort. Pastor informed the Council that Jana Bruesch
and Mary Ann Berkley have requested membership.
EXECUTIVE COUNCIL - Met and set agenda. Reviewed building use
permits.
CORRESPONDENCE - None
Next Council Meeting will be September 16, 2003. Devotions and
refreshments will be Julie Smith and Mary Whitledge Executive Council
will be September 8 at 1:00 p.m.
A motion to adjourn was made and passed. The Council closed with the
Lord's Prayer.
