What’s Happening?

Thank you to all who worked hard to provide Christmas gifts, mittens, gloves, and scarves to 90 client families served by the Foster Care Program of our local #lutheransocialservicesofillinois office. This long tradition of service is an important part of our Christmas ministry and missional community involvement.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped pack and deliver food boxes

for 12 families through Lutheran Social Services.

Pastor Mary Beenken and Pastor Nathan Johnson helped The Peoria Humane Society celebrated the bond between animals and humans with our 26th annual Blessing of the Animals. Community pets and shelter animals were blessed in honor of Animal Shelter Appreciation Week!, November 7 – 13, 2021.

Youth Group had their first movie this month. Our kids enjoy some popcorn while watching Prince of Egypt.  

Our Nurturing Thursday Dinner for the month of November was at Cayenne in Peoria. A good time was had by all who attended.

This month our Community Action Ministry visited Peoria rescue Ministries. Big thank you to Jason who provided us with the tour.  Definitely God’s hands at work.

Huge Thank you to the volunteers who completed two Saturdays of interior and exterior Fall clean-up and spruce-up work.

We are thankful for the dedicated volunteers who this year created 23 quilts, 252 school kits, 127 health kits, and 92 layette baby care kits. in support of Lutheran World Relief. These creations were blessed during our October 10 worship and will head into the LWR supply chain on Saturday, October 30. May they provide comfort, support, and empowerment to recipients wherever they are distributed.
